Albert's Advice: "For Concrete and Vinyl In-ground Pools. This is an excellent Pool Cleaner, Hayward's top of the line. This pool sweep's only limitation is a slight tendency to hang up on the steps. Otherwise, I can't think of a single reason not to buy. Definately one of the best on the market."

Alberts Advice."This is an ABOVE-Ground pool sweep. Don't try to use it on in-ground vinyl or gunite pools it's definately not the same caliber of pool sweep as the Ultra or Navigator and it can't do walls. If you have an above ground pool I'd recommend the Kreepy Krauly E-Z VAC."

Also if your pool gets a lot of large debris i.e. seed pods an 3/4 of an inch in diameter sticks etc. You might be better off with a Kreepy or Barracuda.

Albert's Advice: "This is a very good pool sweep for medium to large sized concrete and vinyl in-ground Pools. However Pentair likes to promote the "fact" that it has only one moving part. This simply is not true and or relevant as the float assembly, bumper strap, foot pad, etc. all undergo significant movement and abrasion during its operation. The net result of which is that this unit requires just as much if not more maintenance and replacement parts as the other pool cleaners on this page."

When Polaris originally began making pool cleaners most swimming pool pumps were low head systems. Which means they did not circulate a lot of water. Now they are manufacturing a number of fine in-line suction models on par if not superior to there competition.
